I play the Dixon Earth golf ball for many reasons — starting with IT’S A GREAT BALL! It performs as well as the ProV1 and costs less. There are other reasons, just as important, such as the many ways the company is eco-friendly. The ball is fully recyclable, the packaging is recycled, the company has an active recycling program in place and they are constantly looking for ways to improve their processes and work environment to become better in tune with nature. The most visible statement they’ve made to date in terms of their workplace has earned them the very first ever Celebrity Greenlist “Green Thumbs Up Award.” Congratulations Dixon Golf! — A.J. Ali
Dixon Golf took one more step in solidifying its corporate message of environmental responsibility when it signed its lease to occupy the third floor of the Tempe Transportation Center late last month. The LEED-NC registered (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certified building is located in the heart of Tempe at 200 E. 5th Street.
The building boasts many eco-friendly features, such as natural ventilation, lights made from recycled traffic signal lights and a ventilated desert ‘green roof’ – similar to a roof garden to offset heat. The building is a flexible 100 year building, designed to accommodate many uses over time. A solar veil on the east side of the building provides shade to the large windows facing 5th Street. These features help reduce the energy consumption of the building by 52 percent compared to the same building without the advanced eco-friendly technology.
“Authenticity is of utmost importance to us. We want to be ‘green’ in every aspect of our business. That’s why we make the golf balls we do, why we run a paperless office and why our apparel is made from bamboo. This building closes the circle on making Dixon Golf the most eco-friendly golf company there is,” said Dixon Golf CEO, William Carey.
The building also serves as the hub for all of Tempe’s mass transit agencies. It functions as a light rail stop and the main hub for Tempe’s busses. Bustling Mill Ave. is two blocks to the west, providing food and entertainment options to the staff and visitors of the Transportation Center.
Dixon Golf’s third floor space will include offices, two conference rooms, a putting green and a golf simulator. The countertops will be made from recycled paper, called paper stone and the veneer will be made from bamboo.
Other unique eco-friendly aspects of the Tempe Transportation Center
• Seeking LEED Platinum Certification
• Recyclable carpet throughout the building
• Flooring made from recycled bus tires
• All the furnishings are made from recyclable material, or are recyclable themselves
• No forest wood was used in the building

I love websites that are easy to use, practical and combine social networking elements with opportunities for people to come together in real life.  www.UltimateFoursome.com is a free website that provides golfers with lists of upcoming golf tournaments, demo days and other golf related events. It's free to sign up and you choose which geographic areas you are interested in receiving updates about. You can use the site to: search for players to fill your foursome, invite them to play golf or just talk business. If you're looking for a good event or if want to post an event, visit UltimateFoursome today.
